Սոչիում կայանալիք Սարգսյան-Ալիև հանդիպման ժամանակ արդյունքի հասնելու համար նախագահ Ալիևը պետք է կտրուկ փոխի վերջին շրջանում արված ռազմատենչ հայտարարությունների տոնայնությունը: «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ, նման կարծիք է հայտնել ԱՄՆ ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անդամ Ադամ Շիֆը՝ անդրադառնալով հուլիս-օգոստոս ամիսներին Ադրբեջանի կողմից հրադադարի ռեժիմի խախտումների հետևանքով շփման գծում և հայ-ադրբեջանական սահմանին լարվածության սրացմանը:
«Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ժողովուրդն երկու տասնամյակ ապրել է Ադրբեջանի մշտական սպառնալիքների և դիպուկահարների կրակի տակ: Այդ երկիրը ձգտում է իր ձեռքը վերցնել վերահսկողությունը գերազանցապես հայերով բնակեցված տարածաշրջանի վրա: Անցած շաբաթ ադրբեջանական զորքերը կրկին հարձակում են գործել շփման գծում' կորուստներ պատճառելով երկու կողմերին էլ: Բռնության այս վերջին ակտը պետք է խստագույնս դատապարտվի»,- նշել է ԱՄՆ օրենսդիրը' հավելելով, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները Ադրբեջանին հատկացվող ռազմական օգնությունը կասեցնելու սպառնալիքով պետք է կոչ անի ադրբեջանական կառավարությանը հետ կանչել իր զորքերը դիպուկահարներին:
Շիֆն ընդգծում է, որ ադրբեջանական բռնապետությունից ազատագրվելուց ի վեր Արցախի ժողովուրդը իր հայրենիքում ձգտել է կառուցել ժողովրդավար պետություն և շուկայական տնտեսություն: Հակառակ դրան' պաշտոնական Բաքուն պատասխանել է նավթադոլարներով ֆինանսավորված ռազմական ուժով և ռազմատենչ հռետորաբանություններով' սեփական քաղաքացիներին սերմանելով հայերի արյան ծարավը, որի հետևանքն էր 2012 թվականին ՆԱՏՕ-ի «Գործընկերություն հանուն խաղաղության» ուսումնական ծրագրի ժամանակ հայ սպայի դաժան սպանությունը:
«Այժմ ժամանակն է, որ Մինսկի խումբն իր դիրքն ամրապնդի այս երկարատև և գնալով ավելի վտանգավոր դարձող հակամարտությունում: Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ժողովուրդն իրավունք ունի իրնքնուրույն որոշել իր ապագան' ազատ ադրբեջանական սպառնալիքներից և բռնությունից, նրանք նաև իրավունք ունեն ապրել ազատ' առանց թիկունքից դիպուկահարի գնդակից խփվելու վախի»,- շեշտել է կոնգրեսականը:
Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտությունը խաղաղ և դիվանագիտական ճանապարհով կարգավորելու կոչով է հանդես եկել ԱՄՆ ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անդամ Ջուդի Չուն:
«Խորապես մտահոգված եմ Ադրբեջանի կողմից Լեռնային Ղարաբաղին ուղղված բռնության դեպքերով: Հակամարտության տևական լուծումը պահանջում է խաղաղություն և դիվանագիտություն»,- Թվիթերում գրել է նա:
