Հենց Վրաստանի վարչապետի Հայաստան կատարած պաշտոնական այցի օրը Վրաստանի տարածքում սողանքի հետևանքով ընդհանտվել է Ռուսաստանից Հայաստան գազամատակարարումը:

Երեկ ուշ երեկոյան Վրաստանի արտակարգ իրավիճակների դեպարտամենտը հաղորդել է, որ Դարյալի կիրճում Ստեփանծմինդա-Լարս ճանապարհի հատվածում սողանք է տեղի ունեցել: Ճանապարհը փակ է, գազատարը վնասվել է: Կեսգիշերին մոտ ընդհատվել է Հայաստանի գազամատակարարումը:

Սողանքի հետևանքով երկու մարդ անհետ կորած է համարվում, նրանք այդ պահին թունելում մաքրման աշխատանքներ էին կատարում:

Վրաստանի վարչապետ Իրակլի Ղարիբաշվիլին հանդես է եկել հատուկ հայտարարությամբ: Նա ափսոսանք է հայտնել, որ չի կարողանա այցելել աղետի վայր, քանի որ պաշտոնական  այցով մեկնում է Հայաստան, սակայն նշել է, որ մշտական կապի մեջ կլինի Ճգնաժամային վարչության շտաբի հետ:

Վրաստանի նախագահ Գիորգի Մարգվելաշվիլին մեկնել է աղետի վայրը՝ ծանոթանալու իրավիճակին ու տարվող աշխատանքներին:

Տարածաշրջանային զարգացման ու ենթակառույցների նախարարությունը հաղորդել է, որ սողանքը առաջացել է հորդառատ անձրևների պատճառով:

«Գազպրոմ-Արմենի» ընկերությունը «Ինտերֆաքսին» ասել է, թե պահեստավորված գազով առանց սահմանափակումների կշարունակի գազամատակարարումը հայաստանյան սպառողներին:

«Հյուսիս-Հարավ» հիմնական գազատարը, որով Հայաստանը Ռուսաստանից գազ է ստանում, կառուցվել է 1970-ական թվականներին: Հայաստան առաքվող գազի 10 տոկոսը Վրաստանը ստանում է որպես տարանցիկ երկիր:
