AFP-ն գրում է, որ Մասաչուսեթսում գտնվող NSRDEC գիտական կենտրոնի մասնագետները ստեղծել են մինի-հետախուզական սարքեր, որոնք կօգտագործվեն ամերիկացի զինվորականների կողմից: Այն հնարավորություն կտա ճշգրտորեն տեղորոշել հակառակորդի զորքերի գտնվելու վայրը, սակայն է այլևս անհրաժեշտություն չի լինի մեծ չափսերի սարքավորումներ օգտագործել: Սարքը մաս կկազմի ԱՄՆ ԶՈՒ վերազինման ծրագրի հետախուզական սարքավորումների կատարելագործման, չափսերի փոքրացման ու օպտիմիզացիայի բաղադրիչի: Նման սարքավորմամբ զինված զինվորները կլինի բառացիորեն անորսալի ու նաև կփոքրանա նրանց կյանքի ու առողջության հանդեպ վտանգի հավանականությունը: Նշվում է, որ համանման, սակայն ավելի մեծ չափսերի սարք արդեն իսկ կիրառվում էր ամերիկյան զորքերում: Այն կոչվում էր Google Glass և իրենից ներկայացնում էր հետախուզական ադապտացված տեղորոշիչ սարք, ակնոցի տեսքով` մեծ հեռավորությունների վրա օբյեկտների նույնականացման ու տեղորոշման ծրագրային ապահովմամբ: Այն թույլ էր տալիս տեսնել նաև պատից այն կողմ: Այս մինի հետախուզական սարքերը արդեն թույլ կտան նաը տեղորոշում իրականացնել խիտ անտառային կամ խիտ ծխի պայմաններում, որտեղ տեսանելիությունը զրոյական է: Նախնական PD-100 Black Hornet մդելը կշռում է ընդամենը16 գրամ ու տեղավորվում է մարդու ձեռքի ափի մեջ: Այն օժտված է նաև քսանրոպեանոց թռիչքային հանարավորությամբ ու կարող է հեռարձակել ու վերամշակել միանգամից երեք տարբեր ուղղություններից ստացված ինֆորմացիան: Հագեցած էGPS-հաղորդիչով և մշտապես ցույց է տալիս իր գտնվելու վայրի կոորդինատները քարտեզի վրա: Միաժամանակ նաև, բացարձակ անձայն է: Նոր սարքը կներակայացվի այս տարվա նոյեմբերին, իսկ արդեն կդառնա ԱՄՆ ԶՈՒ զինատեսակների մաս հաջորդ տարվանից:
