Սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության ծառայության դիտացանցն օգոստոսի 21-ից մինչև 27-ն ընկած ժամանակահատվածում տարածաշրջանում գրանցել է 3 բալ և ավելի ուժգնությամբ 11 երկրաշարժ:

Երկրաշարժերից երեքը' 3 բալ ուժգնությամբ, գրանցվել են Թուրքիայի Վան քաղաքի տարածքում: Օգոստոսի 23-ին 3 բալ ուժգնությամբ սեյսմիկ իրադարձություններ են տեղի ունեցել Իրանի Ահար քաղաքից 28 կմ դ եպի հարավ-արևմուտք և Վրաստան-Ռուսաստան սահմանային գոտում' Լագոդեխի քաղաքից 9 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևմուտք: Հաջորդ օրը 3–4 բալ ուժգնությամբ երեք երկրաշարժ է գրանցվել Թուրքիայի Բիթլիս քաղաքից 59 կմ և 72 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևելք և Օլթի քաղաքից 38 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևմուտք: Օգոստոսի 25-ին տեղի ունեցած 4 բալ ուժգնությամբ երկրաշարժի էպիկենտրոնը գտնվում էր Ադրբեջանի Նախիջևան քաղաքից 23 կմ դեպի հյուսիս: Օգոստոսի 25-ին և 26-ին 3 և 4-5 բալ ուժգնությամբ սեյսմիկ իրադարձություններ են գրանցվել Վրաստան-Հայաստան սահմանային գոտում' Նինոցմինդա քաղաքից համապատասխանաբար 8 կմ և 18 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևելք: Վերջին երկրաշարժը զգացվել է Հայաստանի հյուսիսում, մասնավորապես, Բավրա գյուղում' 3 բալ ուժգնությամբ:

Տարածաշրջանից դուրս նույն ժամանակահատվածում գրանցվել է 6 և ավելի մագնիտուդով 3 երկրաշարժ: Օգոստոսի 24-ին 6.4 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ է գրանցվել Չիլիի Հասեինդա լա Քալերա քաղաքից 20 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևմուտք: Երկրաշարժն զգացվել է Չիլիի հարավում և Արգենտինայի արևմտյան շրջաններում: Երկրաշարժի հետևանքով խաթարվել է հեռահաղորդակցության համակարգը և դադարեցվել էլեկտրամատակարարումը: Նույն օրը Կալիֆորնիա նահանգի Նապա քաղաքից 10 կմ դեպի հարավ գրանցվել է 6.1 մագնիտոդով երկրաշարժ:

Այն վերջին 25 տարիների ընթացքում ամենահզոր երկրաշարժն է: Երկրաշարժի հետևանքով կա ավելի քան 210 տուժած, նրանցից 6-ը գտնվում են ծայրահեղ ծանր վիճակում: Երկրաշարժը շարքից հանել է Նապա քաղաքի ենթակառուցվածքը: Կան ավերածություններ, ամբողջովին քանդվել է 120 շենք և շինություն, ընդհատվել է էլեկտրամատակարարումը և ջրամատակարարումը, խափանվել է հեռահաղորդակցության համակարգը, արձանագրվել է գազի արտահոսքի 50 դեպք: Տարբեր փորձագետների գնահատականներով' Կալիֆորնիայում երկրաշարժի հասցված վնասը կարող է կազմել 1.4-ից մինչև 4 միլիարդ դոլար: Օգոստոսի 25-ին Պերուի Տամբո քաղաքից 40 կմ դեպի արևելք գրանցվել է երկրաշարժ, որն ունեցել է 6.9 մագնիտուդ: Զոհեր և ավերածություններ չկան:
