ՀՀ Ազգային ժողովի փոխնախագահ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը օգոստոսի 30-ին ընդունել է Լիտվայի Հանրապետության Սեյմի Լիտվա-Արցախ բարեկամության խմբի պատվիրակությանը, որը գլխավորում էր խմբի ղեկավար Դալիա Կուոդիտեն:

Ողջունելով հյուրերին Հայաստանի խորհրդարանում՝ ԱԺ փոխնախագահը նշել է, որ Լիտվան առաջինն է ճանաչել Հայաստանի անկախությունը եւ Բալթյան երկրներից միակն է, որն ընդունել է Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը:

Անդրադառնալով միջխորհրդարանական կապերի ամրապնդմանը՝ ԱԺ փոխնախագահ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը կարեւորել է բարեկամության խմբերի դերը: Նա բարձր է գնահատել Լիտվայի խորհրդարանում Լիտվա-Արցախ բարեկամության խմբի ստեղծումը՝ նշելով, որ պատմական այս քայլով Լիտվան վերահաստատեց, որ մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության ջատագով է եւ ժողովրդավարության ու ազատության վեհ արժեքների կրող:

ԱԺ փոխնախագահը նկատել է, որ Լիտվա-Արցախ բարեկամության խմբի ստեղծումը ԼՂՀ փաստացի անկախության վկայությունն է՝ հավելելով, որ Արցախի միջազգային ճանաչմանն այլընտրանք չկա: Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը համոզմունք է հայտնել, որ Լիտվա-Արցախ բարեկամության խմբի ստեղծումը մեծապես կնպաստի Արցախում ներկայիս դրության իրական եւ լիարժեք պատկերացման ձեւավորմանը:

Լիտվա-Արցախ բարեկամության խմբի ղեկավար Դալիա Կուոդիտեն իր հերթին նշել է, որ բնական է համարում բարեկամության խմբի ստեղծումն ու կարեւորել ժողովուրդների ինքնորոշման իրավունքի իրացումը:

Հանդիպմանը կողմերն անդրադարձել են ԼՂ հակամարտության խաղաղ կարգավորմանը՝ ժողովուրդների ինքնորոշման իրավունքի, տարածքային ամբողջականության եւ ուժի կամ դրա սպառնալիքի չկիրառման սկզբունքների հիման վրա:
