Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանին այսօր հավատարմագրերն է հանձնել Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Ուրուգվայի Արևելյան Հանրապետության նորանշանակ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Խուան Օխեդան:

Նախագահը շնորհավորել է դեսպան Օխեդային մեր երկրում դիվանագիտական առաքելություն սկսելու կապակցու թյամբ և մաղթել հաջողություններ: Սերժ Սարգսյանը հույս է հայտնել, որ նորանշանակ դեսպանը պաշտոնավարման ընթացքում կանի ամեն հնարավորը Հայաստանի և Ուրուգվայի միջև կապերի ամրապնդման ու զարգացման, նաև այդ նպատակով 2014թ. հուլիսին Ուրուգվայ կատարած Հայաստանի Նախագահի պետական այցի շրջանակներում ձեռքբերված բարձր մակարդակի պայմանավորվածությունների իրագործման ուղղությամբ:

Երկուստեք ընդգծվել է, որ հայ-ուրուգվայական բարեկամական հարաբերությունները հիմնված են փոխադարձ հարգանքի ու վստահության վրա, և երկրների միջև ձևավորված բավականին ընդգրկուն իրավապայմանագրային դաշտը հնարավորություն է ընձեռում ակտիվորեն համագործակցել փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող ոլորտներում, սերտացնել միջպետական կապերը:

Զրուցակիցները գոհունակությամբ են խոսել միջխորհրդարանական փոխգործակցության մակարդակի, նաև միջազգային կազմակերպությունների շրջանակներում հայ-ուրուգվայական համագործակցության մասին: Սերժ Սարգսյանն ընդգծել է, որ հայ ժողովուրդը հատուկ սեր և հարգանք է տածում բարեկամ Ուրուգվայի՝ որպես Հայոց ցեղասպանությունն առաջինը ճանաչած պետության հանդեպ, և խորապես երախտապարտ է ցեղասպանությունը վերապրած հազարավոր հայորդիների ապաստան տրամադրելու և արժանապատիվ կյանքի հնարավորություն ընձեռելու համար:

Դեսպան Խուան Օխեդան նշել է, որ Ուրուգվայում շատ լավ են ճանաչում բարեկամ հայ ժողովրդին և բավականաչափ տեղեկացված են Հայաստանի մասին: Նրա հավաստմամբ, մեծ հարգանք վայելող ուրուգվահայ համայնքն իր ներդրումն է կատարում երկրի զարգացման գործում և բարեկամության կամուրջ է հանդիսանում երկու երկրների և ժողովուրդների միջև:
