Չնայած նավթով եւ գազով հարուստ հետխորհրդային Ադրբեջանում մարդու իրավունքների գծով իրավիճակի հետ կապված միջազգային քննադատությանը' Բաքու կատարելիք չորսօրյա այցին Յորքի դուքս Էնդրյուն մասնավոր հանդիպումներ կունենա Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիեւի հետ: Այս մասին, ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, գրում է բրիտանական The Independent թերթը:
Թերթը նշում է, որ պարզ չէ, թե որպես ով է արքայազն Էնդրյուն մեկնում Ադրբեջան, քանի որ նա Մեծ Բրիտանիայի առեւտրային դեսպանի պաշտոնը թողել է 2011 թվականին' Ալիեւի հետ ունեցած սերտ կապերի համար իր հասցեին արված խիստ քննադատություններից հետո:
Բուքինհեմյան պալատը հայտարարել է, որ իրենք չեն մեկնաբանում արքայական ընտանիքի «մասնավոր այցերը»:
Թերթը գրում է, որ արքայազն Էնդրյուի' առաջիկա օրերին Բաքու կատարելիք այցի մասին լուրը իրավապաշտպանների սուր քննադատությանն է արժանացել' կապված Ալիեւի վարչակարգի' իր ընդդիմախոսների հետապնդումների հետ: Թերթը հիշեցնում է, որ Ալիեւը իր նախագահությունը ժառանգել է հորից' Հեյդար Ալիեւից 2003 թվականին:
Նշելով, որ դա կլինի արքայազն Էնդրյուի' Իլհամ Ալիեւի հետ 12-րդ պաշտոնական հանդիպումը, թերթը գրել է, որ նա արդեն 7 անգամ այցելել է Ադրբեջան, Ալիեւի հետ 4 անգամ հանդիպել է Դավոսի ամենամյա համաժողովում եւ մեկ անգամ պաշտոնական ճաշ է ունեցել Բուքինհեմյան պալատում 2009 թվականին:
Թերթը նշում է, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիայի նախկին վարչապետ Թոնի Բլերը նույնպես քննադատության էր ենթարկվել Ադրբեջանում որպես խորհրդական աշխատելու համար:
«Ամոթ է, որ արքայազն Էնդրյուն եւ Թոնի Բլերն այդքան բարյացակամ են ադրբեջանական բռնապետի հետ: Ադրբեջանում ժողովրդավարության համար պայքարող հարյուրավոր խիզախ մարդիկ կան, բայց մեր ներկայացուցիչներն ավելի անհանգստացած են ձկնկիթով եւ գազային գործարքներով»,-թերթի հետ զրույցում նշել է «Պլատֆորմա» ընկերության էներգետիկ հարցերով մասնագետ Էմմա Հյուզը, ով հանդես է գալիս սոցիալական եւ էկոլոգիական խախտումների դեմ:
Նա հիշեցրել է, որ Ադրբեջանում ներկայում իրավապաշտպաններ Լեյլա Յունուսը, Արիֆ Յունուսը, Ռասուլ Ջաֆարովը եւ Ինթիգամ Ալիեւը քաղաքական դրդապատճառներով մեղադրանքներով գտնվում են բանտում:
