Փարիզի քաղաքային խորհուրդը դեմ Է քվեարկել քաղաքի պատմական մասում ավելի քան 40 տարվա ընթացքում առաջին երկնաքերի կառուցման պլաններին, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով BBC-ին:
Սակայն քաղաքագլուխ սոցիալիստ Անն Իդալգոն անվավեր Է համարում գաղտնի քվեարկության արդյունքները, քանի որ ընդդիմադիր պատգամավորներից մի քանիսը, խախտելով ընթացակարգը, հրապարակել են իրենց քվեաթերթիկները:

1970-ական թվականներին Փարիզի կենտրոնում մտցվել են բարձրաբերձ շենքերի կառուցման սահմանափակումներ: Դրանց վերացմանը ձգտում Էր հասնել դեռ նախորդ քաղաքագլուխ Բերտրան Դելանոեն:
Բացի աշխարհահռչակ Էյֆելյան աշտարակից, Փարիզի կենտրոնական մասում միակ բարձրաբերձ շենքը 1973 թվականին կառուցված «Մոնպառնաս» 59-հարականի աշտարակն Է՝ 210 մետր բարձրությամբ:
Փարիզի ժամանակակից երկնաքերների մեծ մասը գտնվում Է քաղաքի արեւմուտքում՝ Դեֆանսի գործարար շրջանում:
Շատ փարիզցիներ կարծում են, որ քաղաքի պատմական կենտրոնում նոր երկնաքերների կառուցումն անբարենպաստ ազդեցություն կունենա նրա տեսքի վրա:
«Եռանկյունի» նախագծի կողմնակիցներն իրենց տեսակետը հիմնավորում են նաեւ այն հանգամանքով, որ երկնաքերի կառուցումը կստեղծի 5000 նոր աշխատատեղ:
