Կենտրոն և Նորք Մարաշ վարչական շրջանների ընդհանուր իրավասության դատարանում՝ դատավոր Մեսրոպ Մակյանի նախագահությամբ, 2014 թվականի հուլիսի 8-ից քննվում էր քրեական գործ. Վաչագան Սահակյանը մեղադրվում էր 2013թ. ամռանը զգալի չափի`1.33 գրամը գերազանցող «մարիխուանա» տեսակի թմրամիջոց ապօրինի պատրաստելու և պահելու, ինչպես նաև դրա մի մասը հյուրասիրելու միջոցով՝ իր համագյուղացիներ Արթուր Սահակյանի և Կարեն Կարապետյանի հետ իրացնելու, իսկ մնացած թմրամիջոցը հետագա գործածման համար իր մոտ պահելու մեջ:
Դատարանն ապացուցված է համարել, որ թե՛ ամբաստանյալ Վ.Սահակյանը, և՛ թե վկաներ Կ.Կարապետյանն ու Ա.Սահակյանը նախաքննական ցուցմունք տվել են քննիչի ուղղորդմամբ: Մասնավորապես, հերքվել է ամբաստանյալ Սահակյանի կողմից որևէ մեկին թմրամիջոց հյուրասիրելու հանգամանքը, ավելին՝ ապացուցվել է, որ վերջինս մերժել է ընկերների խնդրանքն իրենց նույնպես թմրամիջոց տալու մասին, իսկ երբ Վ. Սահակյանն իջել է մեքենայից՝ նրանց համար գարեջուր գնելու, նրանք իրենց նախաձեռնությամբ են վերցրել թմրամիջոցը և գաղտնի ծխել:
Այսպիսով՝ դատարանը հոկտեմբերի 28-ին կայացրել է մասնակի արդարացման դատավճիռ. դատարանը Վաչագան Սահակյանին արդարացրել է ՀՀ քրեական օրենսգրքի 266-րդ հոդվածի 1-ին մասով, այն է' թմրամիջոցի իրացում, փոխանցում, հյուրասիրություն, սակայն մեղավոր է ճանաչել ՀՀ քրեական օրենսգրքի 268-րդ հոդվածի 1-ին մասով նախատեսված հանցագործությունը կատարելու մեջ' թմրամիջոցներ կամ հոգեներգործուն նյութեր ապօրինի պատրաստել, վերամշակել, ձեռք բերել, պահել, փոխադրել, և նրա նկատմամբ պատիժ է նշանակել՝ ազատազրկում 6 /վեց/ ամիս ժամկետով։
