Հայաստանը լավագույն արդյունքներն է գրանցել Արևելյան Եվրոպայի և Կենտրոնական Ասիայի երկրների շարքում ՁԻԱՀ-ի տարածման դեմ պայքարում: «Իմանալով ձեր արձանագրած վիճակագրական տվյալները' հպարտանալ կարելի է: Նման տեմպերով շարունակելու դեպքում հինգ տարում հնարավոր կլինի ամբողջովին կանխել համաճարակը»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ' ՀՀ Առողջապահության նախարար Արմեն Մուրադյանի հետ հան դիպմանն ասաց պաշտոնական այցով առաջին անգամ Հայաստան ժամանած Արևելյան Եվրոպայում և Կենտրոնական Ասիայում ՄԱԿ-ի ՄԻԱՎ/ՁԻԱՀ-ի հարցերի համատեղ ծրագրի (ՄԱՁԻԱՀ) բարի կամքի դեսպան Վերա Բրեժնևան: ՄԱԿ-ի բարի կամքի դեսպանի խոսքով' սա է նաև պատճառը, որ որոշել է առաջինը այցելել հենց Հայաստան:
ՀՀ առողջապահության նախարար Արմեն Մուրադյանը, ողջունելով հյուրերին, նշեց, որ հանդիպումն իրենց համար սպասված է, քանզի ՁԻԱՀ-ի դեմ պայքարը նախարարության գերակա ուղություններից մեկն է: Նախարարի խոսքով' ՄԻԱՎ ՁԻԱՀ-ի դեմ պայքարում Հայաստանն անցում է կատարում երրորդ ծրագրին, որի հիմնական կոնտինգենտը միգրացիոն գործընթացներն են: Նախարարը բարի կամքի դեսպան Վերա Բրեժնևային և ՄԱՁԻԱՀ-ի Արևելյան Եվրոպայի և Կենտրոնական Ասիայի տարածաշրջանային գրասենյակի տնօրեն Վինեյ Սալդանային ներկայացրեց ոլորտում արձանագրած հաջողությունները, ինչպես նաև դեռևս առկա խնդիրները: «Հիմնական խնդիրն այն է, որ ՁԻԱՀ-ի վարակակիր անձինք ուշ են դիմում բժշկի: 2006 թվականից դոնորական արյունի փոխանցման միջոցով վարակման ոչ մի դեպք չի գրանցվել: Իսկ 2007 թվականից մորից երեխային անցնելու դեպքեր չեն եղել: Վստահ եմ, որ Ձեր առաքելությունը ևս մեկ անգամ կընդգծի ՁԻԱՀ-ի դեմ պայքարի կարևորությունը երկրում»,- ասաց նախարարը:
Բրեժնևան նշեց, որ իր մյուս այցերի ընթացքում պատրաստվում է բերել հենց Հայաստանի օրինակը որպես այդ հիվանդության դեմ պայքարի օրինակելի փորձ: Նա հատուկ ուշադրություն է հատկացնում այն հայ կանանց հետ հանդիպումներին, որոնք բախվել են ՄԻԱՎ-ի խնդրին, առաքելության օրակարգում է նաև ընթրիքը ՁԻԱՀ-ով վարակակիր կանանց հետ: «Հանրությունը պետք է դադարի նախապաշարմունքներով վերաբերվել նրանց, որ նրանք չվախենան օգնություն հայցել: Եվ որ օգնությունը լինի ժամանակին ու որակյալ: ՄԻԱՎ-ը չպիտի խոչընդոտի նրանց լիարժեք և երջանիկ կյանքին Հայաստանում»,- ը նդգծեց Բրեժնևան:
Իսկ ՄԱՁԻԱՀ-ի Արևելյան Եվրոպայի և Կենտրոնական Ասիայի տարածաշրջանային գրասենյակի տնօրեն Վինեյ Սալդանան իր հերթին հավելեց, որ Հայաստանն ԱՊՀ երկրների շարքում պետք է լինի առաջին երկիրը, որը կկասեցնի ՄԻԱՎ-ի համաճարակը մինչև 2020 թվականը:
ՄԱՁԻԱՀ-ի գնահատականներով՝ Արևելյան Եվրոպայի և Կենտրոնական Ասիայի տարածաշրջանում ավելի քան 1,1 միլիոն մարդ ապրում է ՄԻԱՎ-ով: Ամեն տարի այս թիվն աճում է շուրջ 11 հազարով:
ՀՀ-ում ՄԻԱՎ-ի դեպքերի գրանցումն սկսվել է 1988 թվականին: 1988 թ. մինչև 2014 թ. հոկտեմբերի 31-ը ՀՀ քաղաքացիների շրջանում գրանցվել է ՄԻԱՎ-ի 1906 դեպք: 2012-2013 թթ. գրանցված դեպքերի շուրջ 75 տոկոսը կապված է միգրացիայի հետ: ՄԻԱՎ/ՁԻԱՀ-ի իրավիճակի գնահատումը ցույց է տալիս , որ ՀՀ-ում ՄԻԱՎ-ով ապրող մարդկանց մոտավոր քանակը 3700 է:
