Ռումինական լրատվամիջոցները հաստատում են տեղեկատվությունն այն մասին, որ Հայաստանում Ռումինիայի դեսպան Սորին Վասիլեն կանչվել է Բուխարեստ՝ բացատրություններ տալու համար: Դեսպանին հետ կանչելու պատճառը նրա կողմից Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանում Հայոց ցեղասպանության վերաբերյալ արված անհարգալից և կողմնակալ հայտարարություններն են, որոնք բացահայտ հակասեմական և հոմոֆոբիական բնույթ են կրել:
Չնայած դեսպանն Ռումինիայի արտաքին գերատեսչության պահանջով՝ ուշացումով հայ ժողովրդից հրապարակային ներողություն պարունակող պարզաբանում է հրապարակել՝ դիվանագիտական այս սկանդալը նոր զարգացում է ստացել:
Ինչպես հաղորդում է ռումինական «Աջերպրես» ազգային պետական գործակալությունը, Ռումինիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարարությունն առանձին հայտարարությամբ «խստորեն դատապարտել և քննադատել է ՀՀ-ում այդ երկրի դեսպան Սորին Վասիլեի հակասեմական և այլատյաց հայտարարությունները, ով շտապ կանչվել է Ռումինիայի ԱԳՆ՝ բացատրություններ տալու համար:
Արտաքին գերատեսչությունն արդեն իսկ հրահանգել է դեսպանին հրապարակային ներողություն խնդրել և ընդգծել է, որ խստորեն դատապարտում է «ցանկացած վարքագիծ կամ արտահայտություն, որը կնպաստի անհանդուրժողականության ու կարծրատիպերի տարածմանը»:
«Արտաքին գործերի նախարարությունը չի հադուրժում և չի հանդուրժելու ռումինական դիվանագիտության ներկայացուցչի՝ անկախ նրա զբաղեցրած պաշտոնից, վարքագծի և հռետորաբանության որևէ շեղում, որը կարող է հանգեցնել արդի միջազգային հարաբերությունների, Ռումինիայի և այլ երկրների միջև երկկողմ հարաբերությունների արժեքների, կանոնների և հիմնարար սկզբունքների ոտնահարմանը կամ՝ որը խեղաթյուրում է ռումինական պետության դիրքորոշումը միջազգային խնդիրների նկատմամբ»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ ԱԳ նախարարության հայտարարությունը մեջբերում է ռումինական Adevarul պարբերականը:
Ռումինիայի Հակասեմականության դեմ պայքարի և մոնիթորինգի կենտրոնը կոչով դիմել է Ռումինիայի Նախագահին՝ շտապ կարգով միջոցառումներ ձեռնարկել Հայաստանում Ռումինիայի դեսպան Սորին Վասիլեի «հակասեմական և հոմոֆոբ» որակված հայտարարությունների վերաբերյալ:
