ՀՀ ԱԺ նախագահ Գալուստ Սահակյանը դեկտեմբերի 10-ին ընդունել է Հայաստանում Ֆրանսիայի Հանրապետության նորանշանակ արտակարգ եւ լիազոր դեսպան Ժան-Ֆրանսուա Շարպանտիեին: Ողջունելով հյուրին Ազգային ժողովում՝ խորհրդարանի ղեկավարը շնորհավորել է նրան դեսպանի պաշտոնը ստանձնելու կապակցությամբ եւ հաջողություն մաղթել առաքելության իրականացման գործում: Գալուստ Սահակյանը հույս է հայտնել, որ դեսպանը կնպաստի Հայաստանի ու Ֆրանսիայի միջեւ բարեկամական հարաբերությունների ամրապնդման եւ զարգացման գործին,եւվստահեցրել է, որ Հայաստանի իշխանությունները հնարավորինս կաջակցեն հայ-ֆրանսիական համագործակցությանն ուղղված նրա բոլոր նախաձեռնություններին:
ԱԺ նախագահը բարձր է գնահատել Ֆրանսիայի ծանրակշիռ դերը միջազգային ասպարեզում, մասնավորապես, նրա ներգրավվածությունը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորման ձեւաչափում՝ որպես ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահ: Գալուստ Սահակյանը նշել է, որ երկու երկրների միջեւ սերտ համագործակցություն է հաստատված նաեւ միջխորհրդարանական մակարդակով, որի զարգացման գործում կարեւոր նշանակություն ունեն Հայաստանի եւ Ֆրանսիայի խորհրդարանների բարեկամականխմբերը:
Գալուստ Սահակյանը հայ-ֆրանսիական հարաբերությունների զարգացման եւ խորացման գործում բարձր է գնահատել նախորդ դեսպանների կատարած ներդրումը եւ նորանշանակ դեսպանին մաղթել հաջողություններ եւ բեղմնավոր աշխատանք: Ժան-Ֆրանսուա Շարպանտիեն իր խոսքում նշել է, որ հայ-ֆրանսիական հարաբերություններն ունեն դարերի պատմություն եւ այսօր էլ գտնվում են բարձր մակարդակի վրա: Դեսպանը փաստել է, որ քաղաքական երկխոսությունը երկու երկրների նախագահների, խորհրդարանների նախագահների, ինչպես նաեւ բարեկամական խմբերի մակարդակով մեծապես նպաստում է բարեկամ երկրների հարաբերությունների սերտացմանը եւ համագործակցության զարգացմանը: Անդրադառնալով Հայաստանում աշխատող ֆրանսիական ձեռնարկություններին՝ դեսպանը նկատել է, որ իր պաշտոնավարության ընթացքում կաշխատի նպաստել առեւտրատնտեսական հարաբերությունների զարգացմանը, թեեւ բժշկության, քաղաքացիական պաշտպանության, կրթության եւ այլ ոլորտներում համագործակցությունը կայացել է: Խոսելով Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության մասին՝ Ժան-Ֆրասուա Շարպանտիեն նշել է, որ շփման գծում ծագած վերջին միջադեպերը չեն կարող նպաստել հակամարտության բանակցային ճանապարհով լուծմանը: Դեսպանը նշել է, որ Ֆրանսիայի Հանրապետությունը հավատարիմ է իր ստանձնած հանձնառությանը՝ ԼՂ հիմնահարցը լուծել խաղաղ ճանապարհով:
Ժան-Ֆրասուա Շարպանտիեն հավաստիացրել է Գալուստ Սահակյանին, որ պատրաստ է լծվել իրեն վստահված աշխատանքին՝ իրականացնելու երկու բարեկամ երկրների հարաբերություններն ու համագործակցությունը ավելի սերտացնելու առաքելությունը:
