Թուրքիայի վարչապետ Ահմեդ Դավութօղլուի գլխավոր խորհրդական Էթյեն Մահչուփյանը նշել է այն պայմանները, որոնց կատարման դեպքում կբացվի հայ-թուրքական սահմանը: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ վկայակոչելով «ՌԻԱ Նովոստին», Մահչուփյանը նշել է. «Թուրքիայի և Հայաստանի սահմանը կբացվի միայն փաթեթային կարգավորման դեպքում, և դա վերաբերում է ինչպես թուրք-հայկական, այնպես էլ հայ-ադրբեջանական հարաբերությունների կարգավորմանը»:
«2015-ի ապրիլի 24-ը շատ խորհրդանշական ամսաթիվ է, և դրա մոտենալն ավելացնում է հայկական միջավայրում ծայրահեղականության աճը: Հայերը դրան մոտենում են ոչ փոխզիջումային դիրքերից»,- նշել է դիվանագետը՝ նկատի ունենալով Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-ամյա տարելիցը:
Մահչուփյանը չի հավատում, որ Թուրքիան որևէ քայլ կձեռնարկի, որը կբավարարի հայկական կողմի պահանջները: «Հայկական կողմի նման մոտեցման պարագայում ցեղասպանության և սահմանի բացման հարցում Թուրքիայի կողմից որևէ զիջում անհնար է»,- հայտարարել է Մահչուփյանը:
Նրա խոսքով՝ եթե անգամ Թուրքիայի կողմից ինչ-որ քայլեր ձեռնարկվեն, ապա միայն մեկ տարի անց, «քանի որ միայն այդ ժամանակ կրքերը կհանդարտվեն»:
Մահչուփյանը հիշեցրել է, որ այս տարի պատմության մեջ առաջին անգամ Թուրքիայի վարչապետ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանն այդ հարցի առնչությամբ հանդես էր եկել ուղերձով, ցավակցել էր ու մեկ դար առաջ տեղի ունեցած այդ իրադարձությունները համարել երկու ազգերի ընդհանուր ցավ: Նրա խոսքով՝ «դա որոշակի նշաձող է, որից ներքև թուրքական կողմը ցանկացած դեպքում չի իջնի»:
«ՌԻԱ Նովոստին» նաև նշում է, որ Թուրքիայի և Հայաստանի միջև դիվանագիտական հարաբերություններ չեն հաստատվել: Երկու երկրների միջև առկա 330 կիլոմետրանոց սահմանը 1993-ից փակ է Անկարայի նախաձեռնությամբ: Երկրների միջև բարդ հարաբերություններ են այն պատճառով, որ Թուրքիան աջակցում է Ադրբեջանի դիրքորոշմանը Ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության հարցում և սուր է արձագանքում Օսմանյան կայսրությունում 1915 թվականի Հայոց ցեղասպանության միջազգային ճանաչման գործընթացին:
