Եվրամիության երկրների ղեկավարները, որոնք երկօրյա գագաթնաժողովի են հավաքվել Բրյուսելում, որոշել են սահմանափակվել մեկ օրով: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հղում անելով Reuters-ին, գագաթնաժողովն ավարտվել է ոչ թե դեկտեմբերի 19-ին, ինչպես պլանավորվում էր, այլ հինգշաբթի երեկոյան:
28 երկրների, պետությունների ու կառավարությունների ղեկավարների հանդիպման ավարտին նախորդել է աշխատանքային ընթրիքը, որի ընթացքում մասնակիցները քննարկել են Ուկրաինայի և Ռուսաստանի իրադրությունը: Ինչպես նշել է Եվրախորհրդի նախագահ Դոնալդ Տուսկը, ճգնաժամի կարգավորումն անհնարին է առանց Ռուսաստանի նկատմամբ ԵՄ-ի հստակ ռազմավարության:
Եվրահանձնաժողովի ղեկավար Ժան-Կլոդ Յունկերն իր հերթին հայտարարել է Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի հետ երկխոսություն սկսելու պատրաստակամության մասին՝ «օգտագործելով իր լավ հարաբերությունները Ռուսաստանի առաջնորդի հետ»:
Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելը պատմել է, որ գագաթնաժողովում չի արծարծվել Ուկրաինային զենքի մատակարարումների և ռազմական օգնության թեման, բայց մասնակիցները չէին կարող շրջանցել հակառուսական պատժամիջոցների հարցը: Նա նշել է, որ սահմանափակիչ միջոցները կարող են հանվել Ուկրաինայի տարածքային ամբողջականության պահպանման պայմանով: «Մենք պետք է տեսնենք՝ առաջ շարժվել ենք արդյոք այդ ուղղությամբ, այդժամ կկարողանանք շարժվել պատժամիջոցների չեղարկման ուղղությամբ»,- Մերկելի խոսքը մեջբերել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
Ինչպես ավելի վաղ հայտնել է Տուսկը, հասունացած հարցերի քննարկման համար գագաթնաժողովի մասնակիցներին բավականացրեց մեկ օրը: «Մեզ հաջողվեց համաձայնության հասնել ճգնաժամից դուրս գալու երեք հիմնական պահերի շուրջ: Նախ, մենք կոչ ենք անում շուտափույթ ստեղծել Ռազմավարական ներդրումների եվրոպական հիմնադրամ, երկրորդ, անհրաժեշտ է վերսկսել կառուցվածքային բարեփոխումները, իսկ երրորդ պահը վերաբերում է բյուջետային միջոցներին»,- ճշտել է նա:
