Մայր Աթոռ Ս. Էջմիածնում հունվարի 16-ին Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի նախագահությամբ տեղի ունեցած Մայր Աթոռի Վանական խորհրդի և վանաբնակ եպիսկոպոսների խորհրդակցության ընթացքում մասնավոր անդրադարձ է կատարվել օրեր առաջ Գյումրիում տեղի ունեցած սարսափելի ոճրագործությանը, դրա հետևանքով ժողովրդի մեջ առաջացած հուզումներին և արձանագրված ցավալի միջադեպերին:
Այս մասին հայտնում են Մայր Աթոռ Ս. Էջմիածնի Տեղեկատվական համակարգից և նշում, որ այս օրերին մնայուն կապ է եղել Մայր Աթոռի և Շիրակի թեմի առաջնորդարանի միջև, և Մայր Աթոռը մշտապես իրազեկ է եղել և հետևել դեպքերի զարգացմանը:
Կատարվածի առնչությամբ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսն իր խոսքում մասնավորաբար նշել է.«Այս օրերին մեր ողջ ժողովուրդը ցավի և վշտի մեջ է Գյումրիում տեղի ունեցած անմարդկային ոճիրի պատճառով: Ամենքիս ակնկալությունն է, որ օրենքի ողջ խստությամբ պատասխանատվության ենթարկվեն ոճրագործության հետ առնչված բոլոր հանցավորները: Վստահ ենք, որ պետական պատկան մարմինների կողմից հանցագործության ամբողջական բացահայտման և մեղավորների դատապարտման ուղղությամբ կիրականացվեն օրենքով նախատեսված անհրաժեշտ բոլոր քայլերը:
Մեր մտահոգությունն ենք հայտնում հունվարի 15-ին ժողովրդային հուզումների ընթացքում արձանագրված ցավալի դեպքերի առնչությամբ, որի հետևանքով կան նաև վիրավորներ: Մեր հորդորն է մեր զավակներին մնալ հանդարտության մեջ և չտրվել հրահրումներին ու սադրանքներին…»:
