Ադրբեջանցի դիվերսանտներ Դիլհամ Ասկերովն ու Շահբազ Գուլիևը ԼՂՀ տարածքում կատարել են դիվերսիոն ահաբեկչական գործողություն, որի զոհ են դարձել անմեղ քաղաքացիներ, հետևաբար, այդ մարդիկ դատարանի որոշմամբ պետք է կրեն արժանի պատիժ: Տեսակետը ԼՂՀ նախագահի մամուլի խոսնակ Դավիթ Բաբայանինն է: «Նրանց հանդեպ դատավարություն է կատարվել, և դա համարում ենք Արցախի զորության դրսևորում, քանի որ, ի տարբերություն Ադրբեջանի, հաշվեհարդար չենք տեսնում: Բաց ու թափանցիկ դատավարության արդյունքում մեղքը պարզվել է, և Ասկերովն ու Գուլիևը պետք է կրեն իրենց պատիժն օրենքի ողջ խստությամբ»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում ասաց Բաբայանը' բացառելով ադրբեջանցի դիվերսանտների առնչությամբ որևէ քննարկման անցկացումը:
ՌԴ արտաքին գործերի նախարար Սերգեյ Լավրովը հունվարի 21-ին կայացած մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ հայտարարել էր, որ Ռուաստանի Դաշնությունը հայկական կողմի հետ կքննարկի 2014 թվականի ամռանը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետության զինված ուժերի կողմից ձերբակալված դիվերսանտ Դիլհամ Ասկերովի հարցը: Սա առաջին դեպքը չէ, երբ Ադրբեջանը փորձում է ադրբեջանցի դիվերսանտներին ներկայացնել որպես ռուսաստանցիներ' փորձելով այդ կերպ լուծում գտնել հանցագործներին վերադարձնելու հարցում: Մինչդեռ, դեռևս հուլիսին, երբ ադրբեջանական կողմը նոր էր տարածում այդ թեզը, Ադրբեջանում ՌԴ դեսպան Վլադիմիր Դորոխինը հայտարարել է, որ Քարվաճառում ձերբակալվածների մեջ ՌԴ քաղաքացիներ չկան: Ադրբեջանի խորհրդարանի փոխխոսնակ Բահար Մուրադովին հղած նամակում դեսպանը հայտնել է. «Պաշտոնապես հայտարարում եմ, որ Քառվաճառում տեղի ունեցած միջադեպի ժամանակ ձերբակալվածների մեջ Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության քաղաքացիներ չկան»,- գրել է Դորոխինը:
Քարվաճառում հուլիսի 14-ի ժամը 13:00-ի դրությամբ, ավարտվել է ՊԲ հատուկ նշանակության ստորաբաժանումների կողմից իրականացվող գործողությունն ադրբեջանական դիվերսիոն-հետախուզական խմբի վնասազերծման ուղղությամբ: Արդյունքում խմբի բոլոր անդամները գերեվարվել կամ ոչնչացվել են հայկական ուժերի կողմից: ՀՀ ՊՆ-ն հայտարարել է, որ պատրաստ է միջազգային կառույցներին տրամադրել Քարվաճառում ադրբեջանական դիվերսիոն փորձի ապացույցները: ԼՂՀ և ՀՀ պետական սահմանահատվածում (Քարվաճառի ուղղություն) հակառակորդը ձեռնարկել է հերթական հետախուզադիվերսիոն ներթափանցման փորձը: Խմբի չեզոքացման ժամանակ հայ զինծառայողները ոչնչացրել են մեկ դիվերսանտի: Փոխհրաձգության ժամանակ զոհվել է հայ սպա՝ 1972 թվականին ծնված մայոր Սարգիս Աբրահամյանը, վիրավորվել է 1977 թվականին ծնված Կարինե Դավթյանը: ԼՂՀ դատախազությունը մեղադրանքներ է առաջադրել հուլիսի 14-ին Քարվաճառ ներթափանցած ադրբեջանական հետախուզադիվերսիոն խմբի ձերբակալված անդամներին:
Դիլհամ Ասկերովը դատապարտվել է ցմահ, իսկ Շահբազ Գուլիևը՝ 22 տարվա ազատազրկման՝ լրտեսության, առանց պատշաճ թույլտվության Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի պետական սահմանը հատելու, ապօրինի կերպով հրազեն և ռազմամթերք կրելու, մարդուն բացահայտ առևանգելու և սպանության համար։
