Ազգային ժողովի մի խումբ պատգամավորներ Տավուշի մարզ կատարած աշխատանքային այցի ընթացքում եղան նաև մարզի զորամասերից մեկում, հանդիպեցին զորամասի հրամանատարության հետ, ծանոթացան զինվորների պայմաններին:
Զինծառայողների առջև ելույթ ունեցավ ԱԺ փոխնախագահ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը, ով նշեց, որ Ազգային ժողովի պատգամավորների համար մեծ պատիվ է գտնվել զորամասում: «Մեզ համար մեծ պատիվ է ներկա գտնվել այստեղ և ձեզանից վարակվել հայրենասիրությամբ: Եվս մեկ անգամ գիտակցել, որ հայրենիքը սկսվում է սահմանից: Եվս մեկ անգամ գիտակցել, որ մենք Երևանում սխալվելու իրավունք չունենք, որ մենք պետք է ամեն ինչ անենք, որպեսզի հասնենք մեր երազանքների Հայաստանին: Իսկ մեր երազանքների Հայաստանն այն Հայաստանն է, որը տոգորված է անկախության գաղափարով, որտեղ կա երկու ճշմարտություն՝ Աստված և հայրենիք, որտեղ կա գիտակցում, որ հայրենիքն ապրում է հայրենասիրությամբ և կործանվում դրա պակասից, որտեղ կա գիտակցում, որ հայրենասիրությունը ոչ թե խոսք է, այլ հստակ իրականացված աշխատանք և գործ, որտեղ կա գիտակցում, որ յուրաքանչյուր զինվոր բոլորիս զավակն ու եղբայրն է»,- նշեց նա:
Շարմազանովը շեշտեց, որ ինքը հպարտ է այն հայրենակիցներով, ովքեր ապրում են սահմանամերձ բնակավայրերում: «Մենք հպարտ ենք նաև ձեր ծնողներով, որ մեր ազգին տվել են ձեզ նման փառապանծ զինվորներ: Մենք աղոթում ենք ձեզ համար, մենք համոզված ենք, որ դուք պատվով կկատարեք ձեզ վրա դրված պարտավորությունները, և, այո, ունենք այն գիտակցումը, որ մեր ընտանիքները, մեր երեխաները, հայ ժողովուրդը հանգիստ քնում են, դա նախ ձեր շնորհքն է: Դա նախ և առաջ ձեր իրականացրած ծառայության արդյունքն է: Փառք ձեզ, փառք ձեր ծնողներին, փառք ձեր հրամանատարներին, փառք մեր հայությանը: Մենք պետք է գիտակցենք, որ մեր այն երջանիկ սերունդն ենք, որ ապրում ու արարում ենք անկախ Հայաստանում: Մենք այն երջանիկ սերունդն ենք, որի զավակները ծառայում են հայոց անկախ բանակում: Մենք այն երջանիկ սերունդն ենք, որ հաղթել է պատերազմում և այսօր էլ, չնայած հակառակորդի, թշնամու վախկոտ կեցվածքին, պատվով կատարում ենք մեր աշխատանքը, մեր ծառայությունը, մեր սրբազան պարտքը»,- ընդգծեց ԱԺ փոխնախագահը:
Շարմազանովն իր ելույթն ավարտեց Գարեգին Նժդեհի խոսքերով. «Մուրացկանին չեն տալիս անկելանոց, մուրացկանին չեն տալիս անկախ հայրենիք, մուրացկանին չի կարող լինել անկախ հայրենիք: Անկախ հայրենիքը դա հզորների գործն է, դա հզորների շնորհն է, և մենք ունենք մի ճանապարհ՝ լինել միասնական, ուժեղ, էլի ուժեղ և միշտ ուժեղ»:
