Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցի համահայկական հռչակագիրը բացառիկ և պատմական իրադարձություն էր հայ ժողովրդի համար: Այս մասին Ազգային ժողովում հայտարարությունների ժամին նշեց ԱԺ փոխնախագահ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը:
«Ի՞նչով էր բացառիկ: Որովհետև այս փաստաթուղթը ոչ միայն պետական մարմինների, այս կամ այն կուսակցության, ոչ միայն սփյուռքահայ մեր կազմակերպությունների, հայ ժողովրդի բոլոր հատվածների համապարփակ փաստաթուղթ էր: Սա հայ ժողովրդի իղձերի, երազանքների, պահանջատիրության և հայրենատիրության փաստաթուղթ է, որտեղ հստակ նշված է՝ ինչ ենք մենք ուզում»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ նշեց նա:
Շարմազանովը կարևորեց այն հանգամանքը, որ Հռչակագրում հստակ նշված է, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունն սկսվել է ոչ թե 1915թ.' Առաջին աշխարհամարտի տարիներին, այլ տևել է 1984թ. մինչև 1923թ.: «Այս հռչակագրում հստակ հղում է արվում ՄԱԿ-ի երկու կոնվենցիաներին, թե' մարդու իրավունքների, թե' ցեղասպանությունների դատապարտման: Այստեղ հստակ հղում է արվում 1915թ. մայիսին Անտանտի երկրների ընդունած, պատմության մեջ աննախադեպ և առաջին հայտարարությանը, որ սա մարդկության և քաղաքակրթության դեմ իրականացված հանցագործություն է: Այդ ժամանակ դեռ ցեղասպանություն բառը չէր հորինվել, Անտանտի երկրները դա ընդունում են:
Եվ այսօր այս դահլիճում հայտվնում է գործընկեր, ով նույնիսկ սա է քննադատում: Մենք պետք է կարողանանք դադարել առանձնանալ ընդհանուրից: Պետք է դադարենք լինել ոչ միասնական»,- ընդգծեց Շարմազանովը:
ԱԺ փոխնախագահն ընդգծեց, որ հայերի ոչ միասնականության պատճառով 428թ. հայ նախարարները չլսեցին Սահակ Պարթևին, ինչի արդյունքում կործանվեց հայոց թագավորությունը: «Ոչ միասնականության համար 908թ. Արծրունիներն առանձնացան, իսկ 1045թ. բանալիները տարան տվեցին բյուզանդացիներին, Բագրատունիները կործանվեցին:
Ոչ միասնականության պատճառով փոխարեն Կիլիկիայում պայքարեինք միասնականության համար, հակաունիթոր ու ունիթոր էինք խաղում: Ոչ միասնականության պատճառով կործանվեց հայոց առաջին պետությունը, որի ժամանակ հայ բոլշևիկները փոխարենը գնային իշխանությունների կողքին կանգնեին և պայքարեին քեմալական թուրքի դեմ, առավոտից իրիկուն քարոզ էին անում, որ քեմալական թուրքն է'լ այն թուրքը չի, մի կռվեք, որի արդյունքում Կարսը հանձնվեց»,- նկատեց Շարմազանովը:
Ավարտելով ելույթը՝ նա միասնականության կոչ արեց: «Եկեք լինենք միասնական, օրիգինալ չերևանք և հասկանանք՝ մենք կիսելու հայրենիք չունենք»:
