ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի խորհրդական, նախարարին առընթեր հասարակական խորհրդի նախագահ Գեղամ Հարությունյանը վստահ է, որ նոր պաշտոնանկություններ կլինեն Երևանի Վազգեն Սարգսյանի անվան ռազմական ինստիտուտի 19-ամյա զինծառայողի դաժան սպանության դեպքի առնչությամբ: «Վազգեն Սարգսյանի անվան ռազմական ինստիտուտում տեղի ունեցած դեպքը միջանձնային հարաբերությունների հողի վրա տեղի ունեցած հանցագործություն է: Ցավոք սրտի, այս խնդիրը կա, և բանակի ներսում ընկալվում է որպես մարտահրավեր' ուղղված կարգապահությանը, մարդու կյանքի և արժանապատվության պաշտպանության խնդիրներին: Պատահական չէ, որ պաշտպանության նախարարը 2013 և 2014 թվականների տարեմուտին նման մտահգություն առաջ քաշեց, և 2014-ի հիմնական նշանաբաններից ու ուղղություններից դարձրեց պայքարը փողոցային արատավոր բարքերի և բարձիթողության դեմ: Իհարկե, անուշադության արդյունք էր սա, և վկայում է, որ միջանձնային հարաբերությունների դաշտը չի կարելի վստահել զինվորներին կամ կուրսանտներին. անպայման պետք է լինի սպայական կազմի վերահսկուղությունը և ամենժամյա չթուլացող ուշադրությունը»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբˋ լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը նշեց Հարությունյանը:
Ըստ նրաˋ նման արատավոր երևույթները բանակի կողմից հաղթահարվում են, սակայն վերջնական հաղթանակի բանակը դեռ չի կարողանում հասնել: «Պաշտոնականություններ կլինեն ինստիտուոտի պետի տեղակալների մակարդակով: Շուտով կհրապարակվի նաև պաշտպանության նախարարի համապատասխան հրամանըˋ ծառայողական քննության արդյունքների հիման վրա: Սակայն միայն կադրային փոփություններով խնդիրները չեն լուծվի, և չի սահմանափակվի արձագանքն այս գործին: Լուրջ հետևություններ կարվեն ուսումնադաստիրակչական ամբողջ գործըթացի վերաբերյալ»,- հա վաստիացրեց պաշտպանության նախարարի խորհրդականը:
Փետրվարի 2-ին Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հրամանագիր էր ստորագրել գեներալ-լեյտենանտ Մարտին Նազարի Կարապետյանին Հայաստանի Հանրապետության պաշտպանության նախարարության Վազգեն Սարգսյանի անվան ռազմական ինստիտուտի պետի պաշտոնից ազատելու մասին:
